Lifting Facial
A Lifting Facial, technically called rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to rejuvenate the face by treating sagging skin, deep wrinkles, and loss of facial contour caused by aging.
Unlike procedures such as Botox (which only relaxes muscles to smooth expression lines), a lifting facial repositions deep structures such as fat and muscles, in addition to removing excess skin.
How it works and main techniques
Traditional Surgery: The surgeon makes discreet incisions (usually near the hairline and ears) to lift the tissues and remove “excess” skin.
Deep Plane Facelift: Considered one of the most modern techniques, it acts on the submuscular plane for more natural and lasting results, avoiding the “stretched skin” appearance.
Mini-lift: Focuses on specific areas, such as the lower third of the face, with smaller incisions and faster recovery.
What to expect from the results and recovery
Duration: The effects usually last between 8 and 12 years, depending on skin care and genetics.
Recovery: Swelling peaks in 3 to 4 days. Most patients return to social activities in about 2 weeks, when their appearance is more natural.
